Besides the obvious front office changes that need to be made and finding a franchise QB, how far is KC personnel wise from contending for playoffs / how long will it take to become contenders?

with the right HC and the right QB, i think they are very close.

Depends on how much accountability you place on the players.

Yesterday there were clearly players out of position.

Is that the coaches fault or the players?

that's how sad it's become. We have to rebuild a 4 year Pioli rebuild

but hey

We've got a shelf life of about 5 years left on the prime talent around here.

That's why these assholes in charge need to be shipped out NOW.

Guessing less than 25 percent of the "super bowl quality talent" acquired by Pioli survives.

Need to get Toribio back so we can see what Poe can do at RDE. If they can get the DL going, you need a QB and you are on your way. Replacing DJ won't be difficult --plenty of ILB types floating around and he's trade friendly for a 3rd or two.

Need to wait and see how this team looks about mid season, really. We'll be looking at QB Quinn, so it will be easier to eval the whole team after he settles in. Not to say Quinn is the answer, I don't think so, but he could be servicable for our purposes and could stay as BUQB later too.

Could pkg Flowers & DJ for a move in the draft etc.

We don't need to turn over the roster. We need a new GM, a new coaching staff, and a new QB.

It seems to me that the team will need a HB and FB, TE, and 1-3 new OL... Not to mention replacement for Bowe and probably a new slot WR as well.

But that's just my non professional opinion.

In this day and age of NFL, these young QBs comming out are changing teams around in no time. Like Cam Newton. Plenty of young guns changing franchises quicker than later. We need catch a hold of one while the getting is good because these guys are going be around a while competing for championships.

Guys like Tom Brady and Peyton Brokeneck are on the verge of decline. So we need to get ours in this next draft so we can "build" up our chances for success in the league and compete for years to come for Super Bowls.

I don't think it should take two years to turn it around. Not with the rules for passing engagement on defense the way they are. Just got to get our guy up to par and on the same page as the rest of the team.

If we're lucky, we might be able to salvage this team the way Jim Harbaugh basically salvaged Mike Singletary's shitty 49er teams.

If we're not lucky, we'll have to bring in a new GM and a new coach who will start over and build the team they envision.

Either route is fine. As long as the shit mess at the top of the organization is gone.

We can't do nothing with Hunt as our owner. No matter what GM he brings in, he'll have to spend what Clark tells him to spend. We'll be picking up guys with one-year contracts every offseason. We'll get guys that'll make us content in free agency, only to release them a year or two down the road.

It's all up to Hunt and what he wants to spend. We are **** forever until he opens his wallet. We can bring in Reid, Cowher, Gruden, or whoever. They'll still have to to work around Hunts budget. This is out main problem right now.
