I've seen Gravity and American Hustle. That's it. I really couldn't tell you anything about most of these films, other than I really liked the two that I saw.

I guess I've also seen The Lady in Number 6: Music Saved My Life. The woman in that short feature just passed away. I can't imagine anything beating this out. She's just so captivating, and her story makes your jaw drop.

I don't have many predictions, but I'd say:

Best Picture= 12 Years a Slave
Best Director= Alfonso Cuaron

Ironically, those are the two films I have yet to see from the nominees, but I'm just taking a wild ass guess.

I've only seen 12 Years a Slave, Wolf of Wall Street and Gravity. Of those three, I'd give it to 12 Years a Slave.

Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael Fassbender, Benedict Cumberbatch and Luptia Nyong'o all did a great job in 12 Years, as did Leo Dicaprio and Jonah Douche in The Wolf.

Gravity doesn't deserve to win anything that isn't cinematography or special effect related. That movie blew dicks.

The Burbs and Down Periscope are two shitty movies that I love. I hope Bruce Dern gets an Oscar.

Captain Phillips, American Hustle, and Gravity were the only Best Picture nominees that made it to our local theater. It was pretty disappointing. I understand they are considering the commercial prospects for these movies, but there were a lot of awful films that somehow made it over 12 Years a Slave or Wolf of Wall Street.
