Pats vs. Lambs on NFLN...

I hate the Lambs and this is probably my 2nd favorite SB.

Side note: Rams were first in Offense - Pats were 28th in defense...

The SB is infinitely better without Madden...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

i can't remember if it was Brady's last drive, but there was a very questionable call that one could argue was intentional grounding which might have changed things considerably (if it was on the last drive)

I'll wait and see. Still in quarter 1 right now.

Notes: 1) The STL O line was getting pushed back the entire quarter. Only Pace didn't look completely outmatched. Frankly it looked like the rushed people wide on purpose to take him away from the QB.

2) Faulk played better than I remember. He was open a number of times that Warner just didn't hit him.

I rememmber seeing the Pats get some sort of hit or contact on Marshall Faulk and damn neaer every play regardless of if he got the ball or not. which I think was huge. at the time, teams seemd to just let him get into space on short passes either behind the LOS or right at it.

Starting quarter 2 they did.

Seeing it the second time it's clearly not as I remembered it (and my God the picture quality is horrid!)

In the 1st quarter the Lambs ran Faulk and threw to him. Not a ton but I'd said normal to their scheme. He was definitely not shut down.

Starting in the 2nd quarter there was a clear change. They ****ing mugged Faulk.

It sounds simple but they just erased the guy after that. They hit him twice where he was slow to get up (he always was a pussy.) They never really did anything great they just took the foundation away and it all fell apart.

In the second half Martz went full Martz and just decided to sling it.

Wow. After a 2nd look Warner was HORRIBLE under pressure.

The whole second half he's taking coverage sacks. You really can't see downfield but I have to think SOMEONE was open or he could have thrown it away.

The guy had a cannon but no real ability to move at all...

I know man - I thought the same thing. I damn near got a headache watching it; seemed so blurry on TV.

another thing that I had nearly forgot was how god damn accurate Warner was. Jesus.. especially the longer passes.
