Alex Smith dealing with strained shoulder
Alex Smith suffered a "strained" throwing shoulder in Sunday's win over the Rams, but is expected to be fine for Week 9.
At least that's the Monday assessment. It will definitely be a situation worth monitoring as the week progresses. Smith will likely sit out or earn a "limited" tag on Wednesday before trying to ramp up on Thursday. The good news is, Smith suffered the injury in the first half on Sunday, and played through it in the second. For now, fantasy owners should take coach Andy Reid at his word that Smith will be fine, but back-up plans should be readied. Smith's status will be updated no later than Wednesday.

I'm not a Smith hater or anything, but how the **** do you injure your throwing shoulder when the furthest you throw the ball is about 9 yards?

Maybe it was from somebody hitting it? I don't think it's because of over use...

Anyone who has Alex as their number one fantasy qb probably hasn't won yet anyway. I doubt they'd be too worried about his status.
