WR,this isn't even close There are 6-3+ 200lb+ WRs with sub 4.5 speed on every team in the NFL. And quite a few guys even bigger than that. Only a handful of Corners in the whole nfl that big.

Depends on how you define athleticism.
I think WRs are generally taller and heavier. I think CBs are usually faster, quicker, and can jump higher. |

Size doesn't necessarily mean athletic. DBs need to be more athletic to cover the taller WRs. I'd say DBs and it's not even close.

I chose DBs. They have to react to the type of person you just described. It is easy to be successful when you know where to go, whereas it's much more difficult to react and "feel" where you should be. Athleticism compensates for the lack of knowledge. DBs win.

they're both the pinnacle of drug-free human athleticism. no difference really. except there are a few more very rare specimens at WR.. not lebron james rare though

In general I'd say wide receivers. The ability to run full-speed, cut on a route, locate a ball in air and while still sprinting all-out, reach out and catch that ball while keeping control of your body. It's more impressive to me than most of the things a DB does. Personally I felt I was a decent DB back when I played, but would have struggled as a WR.

Without question, DBs. By far.
Some WRs in this league are extremely athletic, but for the most part you can be an excellent route-runner or have good straight-line speed or size/strength to compensate for any athleticism. DBs have to be elite athletes, and that's it. That's the only advantage they need to have. As they say, a WR knows where he's going, but a DB doesn't. They need athleticism and elite anticipation to close the gap. DBs are more athletic. |

what's more impressive:
A Wr taking over a game offensively or A db shutting down anything he puts his focus on |

Lets take a look at at the game we just played
WRS Demaryius Thomas 6-3 224, 4.3 speed, Cody Lattimer 6-3 215 4.39, 39 inch vertical with a broken foot Vernon Davis 6-4 255lbs 4.3 speed 42 inch vertical, 4.16 shuttle Chris Conley 6-2 215 4.3 speed 45 inch vertical, 4.30 shuttle Kelce 6-5 260 4.60 40 time 35 inch vert,4.42 shuttle Corners Sean Smith 6-3 218 (second tallest corner in the nfl) 4.58 speed 34 vertical, 4.16 shuttle Peters 6-0 197 4.53 speed, 37.5 inch vertical, 4.08 shuttle Harris 5-9 190 4.48 speed 34 inch vertical Roby 5-11 194 4.39 speed 38 inch vertical, 4.04 shuttle This shit isn't even close... The receivers are much bigger, faster, and can jump higher, the corners are slightly more agile. This is pretty much a reflection of the WRs and DBs in the NFl. But the real disparity comes in when you get MASSIVE guys like Vernon Davis, Calvin Johnson, Julio Jones, AJ greens, who can move like the 190lb DBs. There are only 3 corners in the nfl 6'3 or taller, and they're all slower than molasses. There aren't any Julio Jones type athletes at DB lol.

E.G. Team shows tendency to use slant-flat concept to the field in 3rd and 6+ out of 2X2. You install coverage beater (e.g. Thumbs) into your gameplan. Player jumps flat due to film breakdown. Announcers make it seem he has "exceptional closing speed and anticipation" when in reality, it might be the only play of the entire game said player remembered a ****ing thing from the last week.
