Hall of Fame Voting and Public Results
Apparently baseball has a hall of fame, and a couple of guys got voted in recently. I saw some review show where people were talking about it.
The thing that interested me is the fact that they have a hard threshold for votes, and the vote counts are made public. So you know, for example, that Barry Bonds got 60 percent of the vote and his vote count needs more steroids to get up to the 75 percent threshold.
I really liked that in concept. The NFL is a really secretive in/out announcement and it gives me little information to know how close different players are. I kind of wonder if they do this so they can have a consistent number of players being admitted every year, because it seems like baseball could have none or a flood depending on the votes.
Baseball people, what are the pros and cons of their system versus the NFL's? How would baseball's public vote system translate to the NFL?
