Rick Dean says "Career Day Defense" an original idea

I sent Rick Dean this e-mail:

Rick,

Last week after the Chiefs lost to Denver, a member of
the Chiefsplanet bulletin board, Deberg_1990 to be
exact, mentioned in one of his posts that we should
call the defense the "Career Day Defense."

Is that where you came up with the name for your
article? If you do visit the BB at
www.chiefsplanet.com let us know by posting something.

If it is where you heard the name, please give the
forum credit. If not, I am sorry for this e-mail.

I just found it funny that the nickname made it to the paper. Here is the response I got:

Andy, in all honesty, I'm not a reader of the web site in question. The
idea
popped into my head on its own, but it's not like I have a patent on it
or
doubt that the idea occured to countless number of other people after
watching a whole parade of backs have career days against the Chiefs.

With how bad our D is, I guess other people could have arrived at that nickname.

Who cares? If you want credit for your clever nickname, don't go posting it on the Internet before the trademark has been filed.

Note to Rick Dean (who I used to work with and KNOW reads this site -- or at least used to): trademark law covers nicknames, not patent.

Bullshit. We all know Brock Landers is Rick Dean. Search through the archives. Every single one of Brock's opinions are reflected in a Dean article. Additionally, BL is the user with the highest post count that nobody has ever met....

When "Suk mah baows" shows up in an article........Some author is getting kicked in na nuts if the planet isn't credited.

Thieving fuggers just "happen" to think up the same stuff posted on the planet a couple of days before...
