Jack Harry's Commentary Last Night

Did anybody happen to catch Jack Harry's commentary on Carl Peterson on KSHB last night? It was the harshest indictment of Carl Peterson I've heard in a while. Harry was pissed off (and rightly so) about the Chiefs raising ticket prices for the 17th time in 19 years. To sum it up, he basically said that Kansas City deserves so much better than a greedy Carl Peterson. Don't know if KSHB does transcripts but I'm going to be looking for one.

Eh, aren't ticket prices pretty reasonable when compared to the NFL?

WOW, was that called for? We play to win the games, sometimes...

The Chiefs are not about winning championships, that is painfully obvious.

You are correct:

http://www.kcchiefs.com/news/2006/09...ticket_prices/

Chiefs ticket prices seem right in line with the rest of the league when you adjust for cost of living.

Look at SF. Highest cost of living in the country, and 2nd lowest ticket prices. That's the anomaly.

Sure, when the other teams are actually winning football games that they are SUPPOSED to win, and not to mention that they have actually WON a PLAYOFF game, whereas the Chiefs haven't done diddly shit since 1993.

All that bullcrap that Carl says that we have to raise ticket prices becuase we have to be more compitive in terms of getting new players and all that, it's bullshit. Last time I checked, the ticket prices does not inflate/deflate the salary cap.

Again, there is no reason to raise ticket prices after a shitty 9-7 season, and "Backing into the Playoffs" whereas the Chiefs performed one of the worst NFL offensive performance in playoff history.

It is a FACT that Carl always hire his buddies. Schottenheimer, Cunningham, Vermeil, and now Edwards. And that hasn't changed one bit. He doesn't have the vision, tenacity, or creativity (I'd take one of the three) to win it all.

Next, please!

Im not fan of Carl but to be fair,

If im not mistaken, when Carl hired Marty in 89, they had no previous history or ties?? His first choice was Vermeil, but he wasnt ready at the time to come back.

I actually wish Carl would take more chance like that instead of always playing it so safe and being complacent.

IMO Gunther was the only safe hire, the other 3 head coaches were pretty big hires. All were the biggest names hired in that particular offseason.

Chiefs organization is a hard one to figure out why success hasnt occcured. Most in NFL circles regard the whole operation as one of the top 5 in the NFL. Dont laugh I'm serious.

From a $$$ and cents (owners/League perspective - not fans) and game day persepctive, it's a well run organization. From a personnel/roster and post-season success perspective it's pathetic.

I'm guessing that it was the usual Carl rant. Harry sounds like a bitter old tard pining for the Steadman days.

It wasn't anything that uncommon for Harry. He just seemed really really pissed off this time.
