What players have a future on this team's future run(s)?

Some players can stick around because they are clear starters for us in 2012.

Some players can stick around because they provide depth and backup support.

QBs: Cassel (starter), Gutierrez (depth)

RBs: Charles (starter), remote possibility in Williams (depth)

FBs: none

WRs: Bowe (starter), Wade (slot), maybe Lawrence (depth)

TEs: none, but maybe Cottam (depth)

OL: Albert (starter), Brown (maybe starter?), Smith (maybe starter?), Harris (depth), Ndukwe (depth)

DE: Dorsey (starter), Jackson (starter), Magee (depth), maybe Gilberry (depth)

NT: Edwards (depth)

OLB: Hali (depth)

ILB: Williams (depth)

CB: Flowers (starter), Carr (maybe starter), Washington (depth), Leggett (nickel)

S: Morgan (maybe starter), maybe McGraw (depth)

ST: Colquitt, Succop

The guys you have marked as starters, are those guys that you think will still be starting in 2012?

I'd take Wade, Cottam, Ndukwe, Smith, Edwards, Williams, and Leggett off that list.

If you're talking short term, I'd leave Chambers on there.

Other than that, we still have a very very LONG way to go, IMO.

Why on earth would I be talking about shortterm when I'm talking about the team's future run(s)?

Then, of course, Colquitt and Succop.

Here's the players/moves I'd like to see next season.. not accounting for contract situations.

QBs: Cassel, Croyle, Gutierrez
-with other holes more pressing I'm content with the QB situation

RBs: Charles, Smith
-I'm all for drafting someone in the mid-rounds, round 3 at the highest.

FBs: Castille (haven't seen much but the option play was beautiful)
-largely irrelevant so I don't want to see draft picks spent here

WRs: Bowe, Chambers, Long
-this position needs free agent and draft help. If Chambers is gone it'll be a big priority. Bradley needs to go.

TEs: Pope
-I like what Pope has done and if Ryan is gone I'll be happy

OL: Albert, Waters, Smith, O'Callahan
-Waters I listed only because it seems like he's gotten better the past few weeks and he made that big hustle play on the fumble recovery against Oakland. I am with the majority, I'd like to see free agents and draft picks in the range of rounds 2 to 5. Need atleast 3 to 4 guys to compete for starting spots.

DL: Dorsey, Jackson, Magee, Gilberry, Edwards
-definetly need a NT to start or rotation with eye on starting

OLB: Hali, Studebaker, Vrabel
-I'd like to see a high pick here (2nd) and looks in free agency

ILB: Williams, Mays, Belcher
-I'm actually ok with this group right now. Lots of holes to fill so free agency or late round pick

CB: Flowers, Carr, Leggett
-work free agency for depth. I like the youth/talent here.

S: Page, McGraw
-I definetly want a major upgrade/impact player here. spend the high first if neccessary and it sounds like the talent and our need might match this draft with Mays or Berry.

ST: Colquitt, Succop
-Other than someone to help return and take pressure off Charles I think the roster is solid here.

I know its early but 2011 is looking like an offensive draft on terms of talent especially at WR and RB. These drafts have been setting up perfect for the Chiefs in terms of building a team, I hope they actually follow the talent right this year unlike last year.
