Boston sportswriter rips Belichick on personnel decision
Did anybody else hear the sportswriter from Boston on Soren Petro's show today? (I don't remember his name).

He talked about several bad personnel decisions that Bill Bellichick has made since Scott Pioli left the Patriots, including throwing Mike Vrabel into the Cassel trade and trading away Richard Seymour.

I don't necessarily agree with him, and I think getting a high #1 pick for a old player is a good move, not a bad one.

But it IS interesting to hear someone from the New England area speculating that the Patriots are worse off without Scott Pioli and that Pioli was a lot more than just a "Yes" man for Belichick.

they wouldve been a better defense no question with seymour, but to get a high 1st rounder for him is a pretty good deal imo

I heard it. He basically said that there is no doubt now that all the personnel decisions are Bellichick's and it hurt the Pats that Pioli isn't there to act as a check.

They gotta draft Brady's replacement sometime. The raiders have lost 11 games for each of the past seven seasons. Last time I checked the '11 QB class looks pretty good. What would you rather have: A possible future franchise qb or a aging d end?

I would swap Oaklands '09 draft for Piolis. I can't think of a team that had a worse draft last year. Pretty pathetic considering where we were picking.
