Not really.

Round 1:
Wilkerson was your best pick, but he most likely will be gone by the 21st selection. He'd be a solid 3-4 five tech though.

Taylor is one of those guys that underachieved throughout his entire college program, never showed anything and decided to start playing at the Senior Bowl. Considering his questionable character issues and work ethic, I think he's a huge reach in the first round. There are solid nose tackles available later including Chris Neild, Jerrell Powe, Kendrick Ellis, Sione Fua, Sealver Siliga that don't have the question marks that Powe does.

Houston, while putting up 15 sacks in 2010, didn't do much else and had little impact on the game. He's a pure 4-3 dedicated pass rusher.

Round 2:
Aldon Smith won't be there when the Chiefs pick at 21, let alone in the second round.

Hankerson potentially will be there for the Chiefs. If he's available, it's a good pick.

Round 3:
Kris O'Dowd is toast. He's suffered too many injuries to his legs and doesn't have any power or explosiveness. I wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole.

We drafted Schilling last year in Asamoah. To burn another third rounder on a guard would be bad.

Despite the immense hard on that Detoxing has for Tawain Jones, the guy is far from a legit NFL prospect, especially to be considered in the top half of the draft. He's fast, but not elusive fast like Charles or Johnson, he's slight of frame, he runs completely upright (a la Harvey Williams) and he's played against lower level competition out of a spread offense which inflated his numbers. He's a special teams, split back three carries a game type of guy and we've already got that in McCluster. Waste of a pick for this team.

Round 4:
If Stanzi dropped past Round 4, I'd be okay with the pick. Round 4 and above, this team has too many holes - unless they felt that Stanzi had that certain something that would eventually lead him to be the starter on this team.

Round 5:
Jah Reid does not fit the zone blocking scheme that Haley runs. His butt is too high and he's a lunger versus a driver. I think he'll be a good pick for a power run team at this point in the draft and if he gets some good coaching, there's potential there.

Here's him against Georgia:
(And see if you notice Justin Houston in this game. I didn't.)

Not elusive fast? WTF? Are you kidding me? His upright running style, injury history and lack of elite competition are legit concerns, but the rest of your statement is non sense. This kid is an explosive athlete and he will make big plays at the next level.

McCluster is nothing like this guy.

He's a fast athlete. He's not an elusively quick running back. Put pads on the guy and he's a complete project that is going to get killed at the next level. He doesn't have the cutback ability of a Johnson or Charles and has simply relied on straight line speed against inferior competition in a spread system that's opened up the field for him.

Like I said, he's a special teamer that might intially make it as a return guy or a gunner, but his running style and frame are going to get him blown up in the NFL if you line him up in a backfield on a regular basis.

For the most, but everyone else is correct about Smith. I have him going to the Texans with the 11th pick in the 1st rd because Phillips is going back to the 3/4 and runs a hybrid 3/4 / 4/3 and Smith would be a perfect fit opposite Williams. Talk about the reincarnation of Derrick Thomas and Neil Smith there you have it

Were the Chiefs running their defense out of a 3-4 when Derrick & Neil were in KC together ?
And what's wrong with Hog farmers ? I can't stand prejudice, never could and just won't stand for hateful remarks towards Hog Farmers, won't tolerate it !

Except Mario Williams isn't playing outside backer in the 3-4.

While I tend to agree with you, a similar fall happened to Sergio Kindle last year and its not out of the realm to suggest Smith dropping a bit due to injury concerns.

The team that drafts him is going to be doing so almost strictly on hope he can reach his potential and his injuries will turn some teams off.

If he were to fall past 21, a certain someone should be drawn and quartered on Lot G at Arrowhead.
