Fortson isn’t a favored child of Toub’s. Kemp is a ST stud and that seems to sneak him into the roster over Fortson.

I posted this before today’s practice, and Fortson was exclusively with the 2’s, Kemp with the 1’s.

Really not drastic differences between any of the lists here, which means that the Chiefs shouldn't have any real big surprises.

Some questions might be -

1. Do they keep DeAndre Washington or Darwin Thompson or can they trade either one? Cutting Washington means $300,000 of Dead money. Cutting Thompson means almost $100,000 of Dead money. In the NFL a team needs several good running back to make it through a season.

2. Who will be the last one or two WRs kept? Marcus Kemp, Jody Fortson, and even Justin Shelton-Mosley might be on the beginning roster.

3. At OT will it be Jackson Barton or Greg Senat and how will they try to keep players like Martinas Rankin, Yasir Durant, and Darryl Williams?

4. How many DEs will the Chiefs keep? Will Breeland Speaks and Taco Charlton be there? Is there a possible player trade/swap?

5. Is Tershawn Wharton really an NFL DT?

6. Will the Chiefs go with 5 or 6 linebackers? Linebackers on special teams have been important. Can players from other positions fill that role?

7. Who will win the battle at backup safety for KC between Rodney Clemons, Adrian Colbert, Armani Watts, and Tedric Thompson? Cutting Watts would result in $316,116 in Dead money. Cutting Thompson would result in $100,000 of dead money.

8. Can our current CBs hold down the fort until Bashaud Breeland returns? Will Breeland's suspension only be 4 games or will he possibly be suspended for some additional games this season? This 4 games suspension is not for his latest incident.

Reid kept 4 RBs coming out of preseason last year and I have a feeling he does the same this year. First to go on my list would be Thompson.

There's a ton of buzz surrounding Forston this year so I think he's the guy. Kemp sucks and isn't that great on special teams to really make it worth keeping him over a guy with upside. I think the other 5 are locks.

It looks like Rankin will be on PUP and Durant on IR, so I think there's a great chance Senat and Barton start out on the 53 and get booted later. I don't think Williams makes this 53. Might go on the PS. If they felt that great about him, then I doubt they bring in Kilgore.

4. How many DEs will the Chiefs keep? Will Breeland Speaks and Taco Charlton be there? Is there a possible player trade/swap?

I think they'll both be there, but I wouldn't be shocked to see one get bumped when Pennel returns.

5. Is Tershawn Wharton really an NFL DT?

He's 6'1" 290 or so. He was 280 at his pro day and listed 290 during the season. I don't know that he's not. I think the Chiefs made an error on their webpage listing him at 255.

6. Will the Chiefs go with 5 or 6 linebackers? Linebackers on special teams have been important. Can players from other positions fill that role?

Unless Andy goes short a RB on offense, I don't see a legit place to rob from to keep a 6th LB. I suppose they could opt to go with 4 safeties or 5 WRs again. A bigger, hard-hitting safety like Colbert or Thompson could, and so could a RB

I wouldn't risk Clemons to waivers but that may not be the consensus. I think Colbert offers more value due to range and ability to play outside if needed. He's much less locked into a spot than Thompson. It's a tough call overall but I'm liking those two over Watts and Thompson.

8. Can our current CBs hold down the fort until Bashaud Breeland returns? Will Breeland's suspension only be 4 games or will he possibly be suspended for some additional games this season? This 4 games suspension is not for his latest incident.

I'm more curious to see who will get bumped when Breeland returns than whether or not they can hold the fort, which I think they can. I'm sure we'll see Ward and Hamilton on the outside and Fenton in the slot as a primary set. Sneed should get some reps.

Really not drastic differences between any of the lists here, which means that the Chiefs shouldn't have any real big surprises. Some questions might be - 1. Do they keep DeAndre Washington or Darwin Thompson or can they trade either one? Cutting Washington means $300,000 of Dead money. Cutting Thompson means almost $100,000 of Dead money. In the NFL a team needs several good running back to make it through a season. 2. Who will be the last one or two WRs kept? Marcus Kemp, Jody Fortson, and even Justin Shelton-Mosley might be on the beginning roster. 3. At OT will it be Jackson Barton or Greg Senat and how will they try to keep players like Martinas Rankin, Yasir Durant, and Darryl Williams? 4. How many DEs will the Chiefs keep? Will Breeland Speaks and Taco Charlton be there? Is there a possible player trade/swap? 5. Is Tershawn Wharton really an NFL DT? 6. Will the Chiefs go with 5 or 6 linebackers? Linebackers on special teams have been important. Can players from other positions fill that role? 7. Who will win the battle at backup safety for KC between Rodney Clemons, Adrian Colbert, Armani Watts, and Tedric Thompson? Cutting Watts would result in $316,116 in Dead money. Cutting Thompson would result in $100,000 of dead money. 8. Can our current CBs hold down the fort until Bashaud Breeland returns? Will Breeland's suspension only be 4 games or will he possibly be suspended for some additional games this season? This 4 games suspension is not for his latest incident.
