Calling all sick ****s: Let's talk 2026

What positions are you guys keeping an eye on this season?

I'm thinking RB, DT, LB, TE, and S could all be needs. Perhaps CB as well with Watson set to be a FA.

Just peaking at the RBs looks like another strong class, albeit not quite as good obviously. Love and Ferguson headline, but Jonah Coleman from Washington is an exciting RB prospect to keep an eye on to. That guy is a dog.

The QB class appears to be much better, even if Archie Manning returns (I 100% believe he will). Sellers from South Carolina looks like QB1, but the LSU and Penn St. QBs look like potential #1 overall type of QBs too.

Will add more thoughts later...

For KC I see possible needs at RB, CB, TE, S, and DT.

VARSITY
In thinking about Starting or Heavy Rotation players aging and/or leaving....

- TE Kelce will likely retire.
- LB Tranquill will be 30 and slower (Veach is disgusted by 30+), and I think we have an "out" option after this year.
- RT Taylor will likely be a cap cut.
- WR3 Brown will likely test the market.
- WR4 Juju walks/gets walked.
- ED Omenihu will likely test the market.
- DT Penel will likely age out.
- CB Johnson likely gets walked.
- RB Hunt likely gets walked
- RB Mitchell likely gets walked.

- Veach will have to make decisions on S Cook, RB Pacheco, CB Williams, CB Watson.

- Veach will likely extend LB Chenal, CB McDuffie & ED Karlaftis.

- DL Chris Jones turns 32.
-----
POSITIONAL VALUE + NEED:
1. DT - Jones age, ONL's youth, and a whole lotta nothin. Good ones don't hit FA.
2. CB - McDuffie & Fulton (often injured)... Watson & Josh Williams could leave, Nohl Williams could be critical.
3. S - If Cook doesn't progress, this may be a bigger need; could maybe address in FA.
3. WR - Rice, Worthy & Royals are a nice trio, but we know what happens when guys start to drop. 2026 is a talented WR class.
4. TE - If Wiley doesn't develop, we have Gray and nothing.
5. RB - Turnover leaves holes, but can address in FA or Draft.

I think you have to be a bit forward looking as well.

Lose Omenihu and Herring in 2026. Lose Danna and FAU (assuming we don't pick up his 5th year option) in 27. I might make Edge a "sneaky" need because you'd like that year of development.

I'd bump S above CB.

LB depth is an issue. Even if you re-sign Chenal, Cam Jones and Cole Christiansen or RFAs and Cochrane, Lynch, and Bradley (whoever makes the team) are all UFAs. Like you said, Tranquill is another year slower and saves 6m on the cap.

I really like Oscar Delp at TE, as well. Not utilized heavily in Georgia's passing game, but he can play in-line and has really good speed and athletic ability.

This is what I really want. Some potential breakout TEs.

Kenyon Sadiq looks like a fun athlete:

Already kind of broke out last but keep an eye on Jack Velling, Michigan State (played at Oregon State as a Fr and So)

Next year is probably also a good year for Spags type edges

LT Overton, Bama
Matayo Uiagalelei, Oregon
Dani Dennis Sutton, Penn State

are a few I'm thinking of.

Rinse repeat every year.

No reason to spend a high pick on anything but those unless there's a McDuffie situation.
