Rice advances on Denver's depth chart

Jerry Rice moved up the Denver depth chart Monday, running as the No.3 receiver at the Broncos' practice, ahead of Darius Watts.

Rice was already considered a shoo-in to make the roster and continue his record-setting career. The move Monday serves to confirm that fact.

Rice was limited in practice much of last week with a sore foot. He played briefly in Saturday's exhibition against the Texans and caught one pass for six yards. He is expected to play more this Saturday when the Broncos face the 49ers.

Good news IMO.

Rice isn't nearly as scary as a guy like Watts, in terms of potential threat.

Let Jerry get his 8 yard slants, and his 5 catches for 40 yards.

Beats the hell out of a guy that can really burn.

I would be worried if an 87 year veteran was moving up my depth chart less than a month into camp...
