*OFFICIAL*: Who should the Chiefs pick in the 1st Round?

Assuming your pick is available (try to be realistic), either at 20 OR after a TRADE-DOWN (or a TRADE-UP?) in the first round, who should the Chiefs select with their first pick in the 2006 draft?

Poll to follow shortly.....

Including Bunkley in this may skew the results more than a bit.

I pondered that.....

I think most of us realize, Bunkley would require a trading UP.....which, I hope, is at least still on the table.

I mean, if Bunkley is there at 13, 14, or 15.....CP better be burning up the phone lines, IMO. I could live with swapping spots with, say, Baltimore or Philly, and giving them a 3rd rounder from next year.....

Yeah I was kind of thinking that was why you included him.

I ended up going with Jimmy Williams. I really don't care for his type of character but that may also cause a prospect like him to fall to KC's spot. I also like the CBs that may be around at the time we pick but I think FS would be of more value to use than a CB.

I just have a gut instinct about Hali.....I like him a lot AND I think we can find someone to trade down with, so we can pick up another pick in the third or fourth to recoup the pick we lost to the Jets for Herm. Otherwise, at this point if Cromartie or Williams are there at 20, I'd grab one of them.

Trading down for Hali wouldn't be a bad option at all just so long as we don't take him at #20. Im not real big on his upside but there seams to be guys that don't have great athleticism in every draft that turn out to be good pros. Who knows if he is one of them so long as we don't take him too early.

Cromartie is another I agree with you on. At least its looking like there will be some nice options around the time we pick at least even if Cromartie and Willams are gone. Definitly going to be an interesting Saturday.

If available, they should pick Bunkley. But he probably won't be, so therefore, they should go with Lawson. He has a more realistic chance of being there at # 20.

Why can't there be someone in this draft that I am madly in love with like I was with Carlos Rogers and DJ last year. I didn't care which one of them we picked.

Check out Cromartie, Lawson, J. Williams, and Hali (after a trade-down) more closely......I'd be pretty happy with any of those.

We should trade our 1st and 2nd this year and our 1st and 2nd next year for the rights to Haloti Ngata.
