No matter how you slice it DV/AS left a nice legacy here for Herm.

DV was left with a team in shambles after Marty and Gun finally left, and after 5 short years, 2 losing seasons, 2 winning seasons, and one 8-8 season, they gave their best shot to take a team in shambles and make it to the SB and win. They produced one the finest offenses for at least the last 4 years and unfortunately one of the worst defenses. I still believe DV could have gotten it done here with a better GM and more time. But all and all I'm proud what he did accomplish here despite the short tenure. The franchise is better off for it and has made Herm's job a lot easier as a 1st year HC.

Ha. So when they don't do as well it is Herm's fault but now that the are off and running it is to DV\AS's credit.

What a joke you are.

Bullshit.

The Chiefs were 16-16 the two years prior to DV arriving.
That's "in shambles"?

DV promptly went 6-10 with that bunch as I recall, and started a trend of pussification that lasted for his entire tenure.....

If by "better GM" you mean "a GM that totally banned him from participation in the draft" you could be right.

And Herm's first year as a head coach has just been so friggin easy. I mean, who wouldn't want to start his tenure as hc for a new franchise by losing his franchise QB and LT.

Piece of cake.

What a tool.

Not to mention a pretty good RT to a suspension, and the Pro Bowler and best blocking FB in the league to free agency.

The only thing Im aggravated at Edwards for is the WHITES at home, and the trip back to 1995 in Denver in regard to offense. Could have sworn I saw Paul Hackett up there in the box.....

Then theres the Pittsburgh game, but the players take the blame for that as well. Gettin your ass kicked that hard takes a total franchise effort, and against the steelers, the Chiefs were certainly committed to getting their punk card pulled.

Speaking of the best blocking FB in the league, it was good to see our kidney last night. He made some plays. One of the very few Vikes to do so.

If Vermeil were coaching the Seattle game, the offense would've scored 41 points in the first half like the Bears did and Eric Warfield and Dexter McCleon would have had 3 INTs each to pitch the shutout!

I liked Vermeil probably more than most people here. I even wanted Saunders to be the head coach.

I don't think you can compare Washington's struggles with our offense under Saunders. It's only what, half a season into the regime.

But I think Herm has done a decent job. The team seems to be getting better as the year goes on. If you take out the Pittsburgh game, which at the time felt like we were being exposed as a bad football team, I'd be pretty excited.

The defense is vastly improved. We've found a way to win close games 3 of the last 4 weeks. And there are 5 games in a row on the schedule that in my opinion we should win. Things are looking up.

I don't think it's a slam dunk that we are a playoff team, or a team that would go anywhere if we did make the playoffs, so I am just looking for the team to be better at the end of the year than we were at the end of last year. I think that after Week 17, it looks like we'll be there.
