Computers Pop-ups galore

I'm having a bitch of a time with popups on Mozilla.

Don't know how I got them, but my virus scan is going crazy with Trojan Horse notifications, but it's not removing them.

Does anyone know how I can fix this? My comp is running slow as hell.

download/install Malwarebytes http://www.malwarebytes.org/

run the update for it after installation

reboot in safe mode and run a full scan

there was a patch for it that came out a couple of weeks ago that turned off a add-on that was causing all my crashes.

It took away some, but I still have some trojans on there.

(If you have windows XP) download/install ATF cleaner: http://www.atribune.org/index.php?op...d=25&Itemid=25

turn off system restore

reboot in safe mode

run ATF cleaner and have it empty everything (If you don't have XP empty the cache and delete cookies etc for all browsers)

empty recycle bin

run malwarebytes scan again

can also use Housecall - http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

It sucks that I can't re-start in safe mode. It won't let me.

I'm running ATF cleaner now in regular mode. Hopefully it's working.

When I hit F8 to load into safe mode, the option comes up, I select it. The file then extracts and about half way down then I get the blue screen saying it's been terminated.

But it will let you boot normally?

That doesn't sound good at all....

Do you have a separate computer you could use? I'd remove the HD and scan it from another PC.

Magically, I ran the malbytes and no trojans detected. After I ran the ATF cleaner, everything cleared up.

cool ... looks like the trojan was hiding in your browser cache or something.

I'd recommend downloading and running Ccleaner after every internet session.

www.ccleaner.com.

These trojans and such are getting nastier and nastier each day.
