1995 Chiefs - Exhibit A as to why Rich Gannon should have been our starter, and why Marty can't win in the playoffs

1997 Chiefs - Exhibit B as to why Rich Gannon should have been our starter, and why Marty can't win in the playoffs

Instead, I think maybe I'll go home and poke a safety pin into my eye socket again.

1995 was a great season... it was the dawn of a new era in Denver. Shanahan arrived, Rod Smith began his illustrious career and a little known rookie RB from Georgia took his first steps to becoming a legend.

A legend in your own mind, perhaps.

"Legends" are folks like Jim Brown, Walter Payton, Barry Sanders, Bronko Nagurski.

Lil' Terrell doesn't even come close to filling those shoes.

Eric doesn't like the 1995 NFL season, the NFL network, heartaches, 8pm, Rich Gannon, Marty, the playoffs, home, safety pins, eye sockets, Jim Brown, Walter Payton, Barry Sanders, Bronko Nagurski, Terrel Davis, or puppies.

Yeah, f**k puppies.

Yeah, sure you were. Your homerism regarding Mr. Davis is well known.

Huh??? He barely played in 95 and hadnt played football in 2 years before that. There are many reasons why we lost, but making him the starter wouldnt have solved anything at that point. 1997 however is a different story...

Well, you can read into what you like... I've never said TD was a top 10 all-time RB. And, my homerism for TD is quite warranted, the guy accomplished more in a shorter amount of time than most RBs due in 10 year careers.

I think your quote was referring to the RB as the legend... so if you meant the franchise, you didnt say it.

Bono sucked balls in that playoff game. Marty should have yanked his ass in the first half.

You're exactly right... for the Broncos franchise, Davis is a legend. I didn't say NFL legend or Broncos' legend... sue me. Bottom line, Davis is one of the best players to play in the NFL in the last few decades even if it was only for a short while.

No need for legal action.

I agree that TD was a Great RB. Just was pointing it out. There is just too much hostility on this board lately...

I think we all need a beer.
