the Lance Long discussion made me remember it...

How ****ing stupid was that 56 yard field goal attempt into the win at the end of the first half?

Jesus...

Everyone knew they were going to get a return on that thing...and if it wasn't for an extremely athletic play by Colquitt (which almost took out our MVP), we would've given them a free touchdown.

That was mind boggling.

P.S. It's 3rd and 17 again.

The chances of that being returned for six are so minuscule, why the **** not?

dude the announcers even knew he had no chance to make that field goal into the wind...

and miniscule?

How often do field goals get a chance to be returned? 1 out of every 25 field goals? More? 1 out of 50?

1 out of 100?

If the field goal turns into a punt...the odds of it being returned for a TD aren't "miniscule"...it's a full fledged "oh shit" situation...as evidenced by the way we lucked out today with Colquitt saving a press conference nightmare for Haley.

not sure if it would have negated an injury to Colquitt...

The fact they put themselves in that situation was just ridiculous...

There was a 0% chance of him making that field goal...

There was a much higher percentage of a chance of something really, really bad happened...as evidenced by the play.

What he miss it by a yard? I believe the defender caught it at the very back of the endzone. So he missed it by a yard so a gust stops or wind direction change he makes it. You have to try that field goal you don't worry about what might happen, if you do that you would never kick a long field goal. "What if we miss, what if we get it blocked", you can play the what if game all day, doesn't do any good.

First, I thought the game plan and game day decisions were attrocious... as have become the norm.

I was not 'as' upset by this as you.... but, I did think taking a shot the endzone had a better chance of succeeding. I just didn't think that Succop could make that kick.
