McCluster wins rookie of the week

Dexter McCluster Wins NFL Rookie Of The Week

Earlier this week, we asked you to vote for Kansas City Chiefs rookie Dexter McCluster as the Week 1 NFL Rookie of the Week, after his rather ridiculous record setting punt return on Monday Night Football against the San Diego Chargers.

I'm happy to report (with a hat tip to Red N Gold Beast and KCALLTHEWAY), that McCluster has indeed won the NFL Rookie of the Week award.

Voters on NFL.com have made their choice. Wide receiver-punt returner Dexter McCluster of the Kansas City Chiefs is the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week for games played on September 9-13, the NFL announced on Friday.

Something tells me that this won't be the last Player/Rookie of the Week award McCluster will win.

Thank you for voting AP!

Haha, I know I've watched it over and over and over again. I love Nessler's call of the play and of the game. I wish he'd get a chance to call more NFL games.

Nesslar was great. That was the first game in years (literally) where I left the TV broadcasters on instead of listening to Mitch and Len.

Although I've got to admit I think I'm getting a little tired of Len. But Nessler was great, even with Dilfer in the booth with him.

I think Dilfer might have to take a week off.

He strained his tonsils while sucking Cassel off on Monday.

I said before the year that he and Berry would be finalists for the OROY and DROY awards and I bet that holds true.

I liked Dilfer too. I thought he had some good insight regarding the QB position.
