Division Rival Draft Picks
I'm really bored right now.
Do you think Pioli & Co. getting to see what the 3 rivals will draft beforehand will sway the Chiefs draft at all? Should it? Let's say that the Broncos draft Marcell Dareus to play their starting DT. (I'll pull a Sac-like move and post a video of MD - Link) Within the division the Chiefs center, currently Wiegmann (6'2" 285lbs), would face: DEN: M. Dareus at 6'3" 319lbs OAK: R. Seymour at 6"6' 310 lbs SDC: A. Garay at 6'4" 320lbs or Cam Thomas at 6'4" 335lbs Do you think this should or could sway Pioli & Co. to think hard about taking Pouncey to play center? I say Pouncey because he will be close to the 21st pick it seems like. I realize 2 of the 3 teams I listed above will be 4-3 teams next year. Also, Stefen Wisniewski is a bit smaller at 6'3" and 300lbs. I've never seen hm play, can he handle the big bastards that play NT? The reason I mention this is because the thought of CW getting his ass pushed in by Seymour last year really blows, and I would like to avoid seeing something similar again or 6 times a year from our rivals. This can also be asked about any position obviously, like if the Broncos take Peterson to play opposite Champ, should the Chiefs try and get a good WR opposite Bowe? |

Most Centers are fidgets by O-Line hight and weight standards. They rely on support from their guards and occasionaly a FB.
Hardwick is a Pro Bowl center and he's listed as 305 but is probably 285 soaking wet wrapped in bandages. Pouncey would be a waste of a 1st round pick for the Chiefs. |

The ble chippers will be off the board real quick (top 15). You may get Baldwin but he's a Dez Bryant waiting to happen. |

Interior O-Linemen don't usually get drafted in the 1st unless they're an exceptional talent and are a major need for the team drafting them. I happen to believe the Chiefs have more pressing needs that can be addressed with their 1st rounder besides an interior O-Lineman. |

It's not Wiegmann you have to worry about. It's Albert getting mauled by guys on the Broncos that won't even be there next season. It's Richardson getting that third and long false start penalty. It's having Cassel operate out of the three step yet again because the offensive line can't contain the edge rush.
And Pouncey is a guard. The guy never figured out the snap all season. You want to draft him because his brother was so good as a center in a smash mouth system, but his brother played center for Florida. You aren't drafting Maurkice. It's Mike. The Chiefs drafted their RG of the future last year in Asamoah. Why would they spend a first round pick on another right guard? |
