Head coach possibilities that nobody's talking about

Why do we need another head coach thread? Because **** you, that's why.

There are some dark horse candidate names that seemingly NO ONE is talking about. Yeah, these guys are all have their issues with short or incomplete resumes, but they should at least get some consideration. They can't be any worse than Josh McDaniels, right?

Bruce Arians- Offensive coordinator for the Steelers. Rock solid resume. "Lunch pail" coach. With the proper QB, would probably have us competing for the playoffs in under a season. Vastly overlooked guy when it comes to that team-- he's actually pretty important and critical to that team's success. Just unknown if he would flame out like Ken Whisenhunt.

Chuck Pagano- Defensive coordinator for the Ravens. Inexperienced as a coordinator, but has been successful at nearly every coaching job he's ever had in the league

Perry Fewell- Defensive coordinator for the Giants. Would be kind of a "wtf" hire, but I can see him getting some looks from teams as more of them start firing their coaches

Vic Fangio- Current defensive coordinator for the 49ers. Was defensive coordinator for a bunch of mediocre teams in the 90s, was a part of some impressive Ravens teams as linebackers coach, though

Tom Clements- QB coach for the Packers. Coached QB for the Chiefs in 2000 and got a Pro Bowl season out of Elvis ****ing Grbac

Winston Moss- Assistant coach/linebackers for the Packers. Guy is full of ****ing fire. Players like Hali, Houston, Berry... holy shit would they love playing for this guy. Definitely has the brawn, don't know if he has the brains, though.

Mike Zimmer- Defensive coordinator for the Bengals. I know next to nothing about this guy, but I know a lot of planeteers like Pestilence who have him on their personal short lists.

No one is talking about them because they're not from the tree.

I've mentioned Clements before, and I'd be ok with Zimmer.

Got a couple of Steeler buddies who know their shit... they hate Arians. If Steeler fans don't like him as OC, I dun want him at HC.

Fewell gets a lot of noise here in the tri-state area about being a HC really soon. Not saying he is a KC guy, but not crazy for him to get looks soon. Rob Ryan will probably be talked about soon for teams, well maybe not so much if they keep having games like last night.

I'm just saying, I've never met a Steeler fan and then said, "Oh hey, that guy's really sharp. Knows a lot about football and is really successful. Cool person. Not a douchebag, either."

I just don't think it's gonna be a coordinator. They just had that fail. I'm thinking it's got to be someone with head coaching experience.

Funny.

When we were on the HC hunt in 2009, two of the guys I had on my very short list were Tom Clements and Kirk Ferentz.

Here we go again.
