Kansas City Star (May 3rd Mock)

23 Kansas City Chiefs

TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins, Washington

Could form a devastating duo over the middle with Travis Kelce.

TE is not a top priority imo

It's because he's small with short arms.

Considering that this draft is loaded with guys who are 6'3", 200+ lbs. running a 4.4something 40, it's a bit of a hard sell to spend a first rounder on a 5'4", 150 lbs. guy with 23" arms no matter how productive he was in college.

Damn he shrunk lol. Cooks is better than a lot of those 6'3" 200 lb guys, which is why he is so highly rated. I certainly wouldn't take Sefarian Jenkins over him if Kelce is healthy, which from everything I've read he is.

I'm starting to get a feeling that WR won't be our pick round 1. The 3 WR's we like could all be gone too. Dorsey did say this draft had good WR talent every round.

Starting to believe a Safety like Ward or a TE like ASJ will be the pick. They are going to pick someone later IMO. Watch out for Josh Huff. Call that a gut feeling

If that is truly how they feel then a trade back to grab another 3rd/4th should be the play, cause Ward or ASJ will likely be there a few picks later.

Unless the Chiefs slide down in the draft, I'd call WR a lock.

I can't. I'm not allowed.

I will be castigated as being a "homer" by mentioning such players.

Would anyone miss it if they just shut the KC Star down?

Gabe Jackson is a fit for a man blocking scheme, and from my understanding the chiefs run a zone blocking scheme.

Honestly if this team draft's anything other than a WR or a S with that first pick I'm going to be left scratching my head. Sure you could take an OL CB LB TE etc etc but the priority and the position you need most at this point is a WR or S.

So that's two for two for shitty articles from the KC Star, trade Berry and draft a TE with the first pick... good ones guys. If you're going for original ideas that's about as original as it gets I suppose.
