-- Do you like ham?

Hey guys,

Do you all like ham?

I'm interested in hearing which were the better hams you've eaten in your lifetime.

What are your future plans with regards to ham food?

Is there any ham you use for accenting your other cooking?

Tell me about your family hams - growing up - Could your Aunt cook a ham?
Could your dad (ironically) cook up a ham, for whatever reason?

Was, or Is there a barbecue place offering up a nice ham-plate?

How about ham biscuits? Big biscuit?

Ham salad sandwiches?

If you were still in grade-school would you be cool with a ham sandwich packed in your lunch?

I'm interested in anything here, folks - I'm even cool with canned ham at this point! Spam is always welcome, srsly.

Does ham give you heartburn?

Does it disgust you? Are you muslim or jewish ...?

Does it stop you up?

There is no poll here - just give me that ham bone!

We used to always get honeybaked ham at the mall. The trick is to wait the day after Thanksgiving and go there and get them for half price.

My preference are ham loaves basted in a brown sugar/vinegar/dried mustard sauce. But it's more of a ground ham/pork steak thing than straight ham.

Ham sandwiches from Thanksgiving and Christmas leftovers were my favorite. Throw some of that ham on some white bread with a little mayo, toss it in the microwave. Shiiit.

I don't like ham as a barbecue meat, though.

Spam is very popular in Hawaii. Go figure.

I like thin sliced ham from the deli to make sandwiches. A big ol' hunk of ham on a plate has never been a favorite of mine, but I do like it in ham/bean soup.

I get a 20lb. Fanestils ham every year before Thanksgiving from the company I work for. It's a great ham and I've become pretty proficient at preparing them, but that is about the only time of year I eat ham.

three amazing posts right out of the gate - Ham never sounds appetizing - until you begin talking about either Gates or HBH - No question HBH saved ham's life around 27 yrs ago (I think) - Ham is solid if you know what you're doing - but a good, nice, moist ham takes some skill to be prepared properly.

I bet FireMeBoy! can bake off a very pretty ham. He's self groomed himself into a Television tier'd cook. I'd tag-team some bimbo w/ FMB! on Iron Chef and like our chances at actually winning.

How bout a ham samwich? /cypress

I think ham is undersold to the masses these days. IMO it is far superior to a dried out shitty turkey anyday. The last five years or so we would pick up a honey baked ham from a local BBQ place that was amazing and cook all of the other sides. Plus I would make grilled ham and cheese sandwiches for days instead of shitty turkey jobbies.

Pineapples would not go well with jelly and butter in toast.
