Late night bullshit: Fivethirtyeight.com says #NEvsKC is a coin flip.
Some things I read on 538 today:

1. They give us the THIRD BEST chance at winning the Super Bowl, at a bullish 14%, trailing the Panthers (bearish at 18%) and the Cardinals (static at 16%). The Broncos are static at 14% and the Patriots are a bearish 11%.

2. They give us the THIRD BEST "elo" rating (essentially weighting our team's talent by grading victories/losses, margin of victories, and opponent talent level).

3. Third -- they claim New England is the favorite to win the game using whatever advanced metrics they employ, giving them only a 51% chance to KC's 49% to win.

4. The Chiefs, therefore, have a 49% chance to win (again, just according to 538), a 27% chance to advance to the Super Bowl, and a 14% chance to win it all. Only Denver, at 32%, has better odds to reach the Super Bowl in the AFC.

The plot thickens, does it not!

How can NE be 51% when nearly everyone else has them higher?

If Nate truly believes this, I hope he has a way to take the margin.... That's a big ass margin.


Other sites have NE at 66%.
