As many know, I've been studying for a new certification as dictated rather heavily by my Manager. I passed on Friday. Today I was told I am out of a job.

Had this happen to me once. Ended up my boss knew a shakeup was coming and "strongly encouraged" a bunch of us to get additional training while the company was helping pay for it, never letting on about the layoffs around the corner.
I was ticked off until I connected the dots. Then I was glad for getting the boot. You will land some place even better!
