Does it seem that Dorsey is trying to build for a run after the Manning era ends in Denver?

It just seems that most of the teams additions are high ceiling project type players.

Guys that should be up to speed as Manning is falling apart.

Ford is a completely one dimensional player that will need a year or maybe 2 before he should be counted on to be a full time starter. Otherwise, teams will consistently exploit his weaknesses in run defense and in coverage.

Gaines hasn't covered the quality of players he will be covering in the pros and will have some real growing pains.

it's possible but i'm beginning to think that this is SOP

Dorsey drafts to replace needs opening up in the future, not already a need.

I imagine a draftee that has a chance to learn from the guy they are replacing has a higher likelihood of success.

Still doesn't explain the lack of FA's to fill immediate needs. Cleaning the cap out?
