I strongly suspect that the Texans preferred Mahomes as well. But they'll never tell.

probably at pick 31/32, whichever they had.
I thought they were admitting they wanted Reuben Foster, but SF traded up for him instead?

Seahawks were supposedly interested in him later in the draft. Great sign seeing how many teams loved him
It's also a relief that we got our guy seeing as how it always comes out who we really like |

Actually it wasn't much of secret as the local narrative was that O'Brien wanted MaHomes but nationally media (mistakenly) said O'Brien wanted Watson. |

Was just coming to post that.
Hell of an intelligence coup by Dorsey.

It's a PGA golfer, Ryan Palmer, that the Saints had invited to sit in the war room. After he finished his round today, he briefly discussed what he saw and said they were big on Pat Mahomes until the trade.
Hard to take any conclusions away from that OTHER than Dorsey had some big ol' swinging balls and made the move he had to make. Not many people had the Saints on Mahomes and yet it seems like Dorsey had this figured out a week or so ago. He said he had the conditional 'gentlemen's agreement' in place for that trade 6 days ago with Whaley and that they'd make the deal if Mahomes was there at 10. That's calling your damn shot and taking it out. If Mahomes doesn't work out, that's on scouts and coaching. Dorsey's job is to make decisions/moves to acquire players that his scouts and coaches believe in. He couldn't have done a better job here because if he doesn't do exactly what he did, this doesn't get done at all.

Go check out the thread I made about the Texans war room last night... it sounds like we picked their pocket, too.

Never in the Chiefs history have they pulled off a deal even approaching this. Best move ever even if he doesn't pan out for execution alone. |

Big dick Dorsey did it man. Not even some of the hardcore guys on here who were sucking Mahomes off for MONTHS would have made that trade. I'm so proud of this franchise.
