Have known this was in development but not much beyond that. This reveal trailer was released as part of a presser for a new game service. Assume we'll get more info during e3.

Pretty long article. It mentions that illithids were part of Baldur's Gate 2. Which I would probably remember if it hadn't been [redacted] years since I played it

It sounds like pc and stadia only, so not likely I'll play. My PC is long out of date and I recently quit my job with no real prospects on tbe horizon.

I thought the Baldurs Gate was pretty average, it certainly wasn't as great as Planescape Torment. I played it through when it came out but it wasn't one of my favorites. That being said I hope the new one is good.

It was talked about in the main video game thread. I've played fully through 3 times and doing honor mode now.

I had gotten out of gaming for the most part.

BG3 got me interested in gaming again because it was turn based. I've gotten too old and slow for real time games.

I got about ten hours into act I and then decided I would come back in nine months or a year when the game had stabilized and I could Mod it without a patch breaking things, etc.

In the meantime, I'm thinking of Divinity Original Sin II which I've never played.

Or maybe Disco Elysium.

I've almost bought this game so many times but the turn based combat system just might kill it for me and I don't want to throw away $60 for something that I'll play for an hour. Watched a couple YouTube vids to try and get a feel for the controls and those NPCs following me around and getting in the way would drive me crazy for starters.

Maybe if it goes on Steam sale for Christmas. Should have a demo with like 30 minutes of time play.

Turn based isn't for everyone.

But you can micromanage your NPC's with turn based which I actually like instead of having them run off and spoil your strategy.

You can also play lone wolf, although you would miss out on some content from what I hear.

I haven't gamed in years and BG3 has me contemplating building a gaming PC just to play it.

I generally prefer MMORPGs via computer not gaming system and that has worked for me. It's taken me a bit to get used to the game but I am thoroughly enjoying it. Wish I had more time to play.

I've made my own Drow wizard. Apparently they can become very powerful at higher levels. Right now, he shows flashes of power but he can also get his butt kicked.
