David DeJesus or Alexis Gomez?
In 2004, it looks like if the Royals don't re-sign Raul Ibanez, which doesn't look like they will due to the fact that to keep Carlos Beltran, he will command quite a bit of money, and we won't be able to keep both, David DeJesus is the heir apparent to fill the void in left field. DeJesus put up solid numbers for the AAA Royals in 2003, but is he ready for the majors?
Alexis Gomez, who was selected to the AA Futures Game in 2003 alongside Zack Greinke has already had a brief stint in the majors last year, in which he batted leadoff for the Royals, and gave the organization a look into their future leadoff hitter. In 2004, will Gomez be able to put up the solid numbers like DeJesus should, or do you stick Gomez in AAA and let DeJesus lead-off for the 2004 season? |
