Curious to see if we have any other athletes out here.

I don't have a stopwatch. Maybe I should see if one of my friends does and get some jackass to time me.

What's your 40 time?

Read beach tribe's posted article. I know it was about football players but it shows the discrepancy in times.

First off, I NEVER once claimed that I, or any of my teammates from high school were EVER timed at sub-4.5 speed.

Secondly, for the LAST goddamned time, our 40 times were consistently timed. So, you can make whatever "claim" you'd like but you'd be incorrect. And when guys that I played with went on to play AND start at Wyoming, Air Force Academy, Arkansas, KU, K-State and dozens of other programs, I'd say that our 40 times were pretty much dead on.

Otherwise, everyone would have bombed after high school, which was clearly not the case.

Why would they have bombed if they were actually slower? Again you gave said speed is not indicative of football skills.

and I also never said that you claimed to run faster than 4.5 or even at 4.5.

And you aren't the only guy to play ball or go to school with guys who went on to ncaa football success

What's hard to believe? Of course a football BB is going to have a ton of former jocks on here. The sum of the people who are saying that they could light it up on the track here on ChiefsPlanet isn't an accurate polling number if you're trying to average it out amongst every American that played some sort of high school sport.

Are you kidding?

Let's say a receiver is timed at running a 4.5 but in reality runs a 4.9. Are you claiming that he'd have the same success on the field as a receiver with true 4.9 speed as opposed to 4.5?

Of course it's not. But the two aren't mutually exclusive. A guy that has great football skills while being fast athletically is going to have a better success rate than a guy with great football skills that runs 5/10ths of a second slower.

Usain Bolt ran a 4.48(reaction time taken off) 40 in 2008. Nice to see that people of CP would only lose by a couple of milliseconds to him in a 40 yard race...
