Here's something to keep in mind when everyone is crying about over agreeing in principle with anyone.

Teams can't meet with players or even talk to them until Friday at 6 EST. They can talk to agents, but that's it.

Why would you invest tons of money in a guy you can't even sit down with yet?

Dallas let go of Marion Barber (even though he's a Cowboy, he's actually one of my favorite RB's), Roy Williams, Leonard Davis, and Kris Brown.

NFL Network's Michael Lombardi hears that talks between talk surrounding the Jets and free agent Nnamdi Asomugha are "serious and I mean serious."
With free agency about to hit the 24-hour mark, the Jets are the only team that has been linked to Asomugha. He may be willing to take less to play in New York for a contender and players such as Mark Sanchez are reportedly willing to restructure their deals to make it work. There is a major chance that the two best corners in the league will be lining

Redskins agreed to terms with Donte' Stallworth on a one-year deal.
At age 30 and coming off a an injury-plagued season in Baltimore, Stallworth isn't much more than a flier. He'll provide depth behind Santana Moss and Anthony Armstrong as the Redskins are realizing Santonio Holmes is probably headed back to the Jets. Stallworth won't be on the fantasy radar as the No. 4 option in a passing game led by John Beck.

Most of these signings have been players familiar with coaches on other teams, staying in roughly the same area (stallworth to Washington), players staying with their own teams, or moves that have been expected for a while (Hass to Tenn).

I think on Friday evening is when the flury of signings is going to happen. The players can't practice with their new teams until August 4th so I can understand why teams and players alike are reluctant to lock into a long term agreement together when they've never sat down face to face. Plus, I'm sure players want to research where the areas as well.

Teams also don't wnat to reach agreements that can't be signed only to have the player's agent shop it around.
