Don't think this makes sense. Their current cap status is $10MM over. They CANNOT make any offer to any FA until Friday or Saturday, whatever it is. They can discuss offers with players, however. My assumption is that they've reached out to Cromartie, or even reached agreemnet with him, and the Raiders will cut enough players (or restructure) to get under the cap by enough to sign him.

Besides, they also need to generate like $7MM in room just to sign their draft picks.

*Graham is a somewhat better than a JAG. He's a JAG receiver but well above-average inline blocker who understands the Weis/Belichick offensive schemes. Not sure how much of that ties into the Chiefs' current O scheme, but...

He might be a decent pick up for, say, two years. His blocking could help Charles, etc. etc.

*Note that everything I'm saying is about 2-3 years old at this point, as I didnt' pay much attention to him while he was with the Broncos. I'm talking about him as a Patriots' player. He's the wrong side of 30 by now, so presumably his play has/will declined somewhat, but he's not that old yet so I figure he'd have a year or three left.

One analyst said he was still the best blocking TE in the NFL last year, so....

He might be an option for you guys if all you have are JAGs and Pioli thinks he's an upgrade. He also brings leadership and has experience in playoff game intensity etc.
