Unexplainable

What is the most unexplainable or weirdest thing that has ever happened to you or that you've seen with your own two eyes? This is a spin off the Insane Assylum thread. Just curious about your experience with things of this or other nature....

OK I'm breaking the rules a bit here, because it is a secondhand experience. I went to school in Rolla, and a fraternity brother of mine (the president at the time) returned to school from Christmas break a couple of days early to get the house warmed back up and everything in order for the coming semester. Being the only guy in the house at the time (I don't know the square footage, but it held about 50 guys), he locked the house up, even when he was there. The last night he was there by himself, he was watching a movie in his room, when he heard a door close. He was pretty sure it was the room next to his. He turned his TV off and listened. He didn't hear anything. He got up and checked the room next to his, and found nothing. However, while he was in that room, he heard yet another door close, this time further down the hall. When he returned to the hallway, it was pitch black (there are no windows in the upstairs hallway, and all of the lights are on a single switch). He very slowly crept to the other end of the hallway (50 feet or so) and turned the light back on. At this point, he was obviously scared stiff. He then returned to his room and found his TV on (as I mentioned before, he had turned it off to listen for noises).

He then proceeded to go to a hotel and spend the night. Just another secondhand ghost story, but it has always freaked me out because this isn't the type of guy to make this crap up.

I never knew if that was real or not. We drive by there going to the Little League football fields, and I still always wonder.

Yeah I remember that, and all the cars out front... That and all the junk behind the house...

Also there are some very old buildings buried back in the woods by the "bad boys prison" by fort osage HS and blue mills road.. I forget the actual name of the school.. But the former house foundation is huge, I would say a 4000 ft basement... Anyway it looks to be mid 1800's with the size of the trees growing inside of it...

My sister lives near Hannibal, and there's a big old mansion overlooking town up on top of a hill. We toured it a few years back, and apparently it was abandoned for a few decades until a group of people bought it in the early 90s and restored it as a museum. The place was awesome.

The thing that baffled me was that this place was abandoned and kids would go drinking in it and stuff, and it was still the nicest property in town. I dream of retiring and finding a place like that. It even still had some of the original antique furniture in it. How does a property like that get abandoned?

My father paid a visit to my sister and I three days after he died. It was the night before his funeral. Pretty God-damned creepy.

It saves about 5 gallons of water, too. So, why not?

Reminds me a bit of what happened to me a few years back after the big ice storm we had in the KC Metro area.

It's about 5:30 am, I'm getting ready for work and I hear this very loud "thump" that sounded like a tree limb landing on top of the roof. I figured thats what it was since the ice storm tore the hell out of my tree in the back yard. So, I grab a flashlight, go outside and begin surveying the roof. Nothing. Not a limb, branch or twig in sight. I go back in the house, grab my keys, stroll out the front door, get into my car and drive to work.

I signed onto the net when I get to work, only to discover that a house 2 blocks away from me had EXPLODED and that was the "thump" I heard.
