I'm going to Vegas, baby!

OK, just got done booking a trip to Vegas in April. This will be my first time. Actually it will be my first real vacation ever. I have a few weeks to plan and I want to see as much stuff as possible.

Hit me with your recommendations. I want to know what places I need to visit, restaurants can't be missed, sights I should see. Trying to keep a budget so dropping big money on a bunch of shows isn't really my thing. I might gamble a little but I'm not big on gambling. I will be looking for photo spots though. I will be bringing my camera and taking a ton of pictures.

So what do you think, Planet? What do I need to see in VEGAS?

EDIT: Here's the link to the pics: http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showp...&postcount=106

Thanks everybody!

OK, I am taking notes. I don't know if I have time for all these places, but I will try some of them.

Don't they other entertainment besides the shows? I thought one of the casinos had a full amusement park or something.

Good call! You should find the experience much more enjoyable.

I thought the aquarium at Mandalay was cool. Cirque (Mystere @ Treasure Island) was awesome as well.

Also, you should see how many different porno cards you can collect. You'll know what I mean when you get there.

In all seriousness, if you haven't been there, get up really early one morning and make the drive. It's beyond spectacular. It's almost unbelievable. Even if you only stay two or three hours, you could get the feel and it makes for one long day.
I don't know if I want to spend 10 hours on the road in a rental car just to be there for an hour or two. It may have to wait for another trip.

Sometime I'd like to drive through Monument Valley and see the Grand Canyon and Antelope Canyon. That would be a whole 'nother trip though.

Here is the list of shows with the promotion:

We're planning on the Beatles one but I might change my mind if someone was raving about another one.

Monument Valley is way cool, too.

You can also take a tour bus, but I think driving is the better way to go: http://coachamerica.com/graylinelasvegas/tour.cfm

Is the Hoover dam only an hour away? We may be able to squeeze that in.
