It's basically the same lineup that everyone was worried about hitting last year but adds Heyward and likely a better Wong.

You don't really need a traditional #4 hitter in today's lineups. You just need someone that can gap a ball, drive in some runs. You need home runs but they just don't have to be the guy in the #4 hole.

We have all had concerns about Adams working out in the long term. If he can't hit leftys, he wont last.

Molina is concerning. It's early but he has missed balls in the dirt he never use to miss. I hope his decline is more gradual than falling off a cliff. His ability to call the game and work with the pitchers still has tremendous value even if he does revert to hitting .225 again.

Good win today, but getting tired of Choate coming in for one batter just to walk him. The last two games we have won despite some highly questionable late inning management of the bullpen.

Taking 2 of 3 at the Reds after they swept the Pirates was a very good series win. You give teams hope, they play better. Letting the Cubs and Reds know we are still the big dogs in the division was a very good thing, even if its April.

Votto is batting .000 against Seigriest. Not a single hit. He looks to be back on track. Why not use him there?

I don't blame Choate for the NCLS last year. He is what he is. It's on Matheny to keep running him out there.

Looks like the Reds/Cardinals riviraly is going to get a little hot this year. The Reds manager called out Hayward for his "dirty" slide in today's game.

Reds manager Bryan Price’s view of another play at third did not. In the fifth inning, Jason Heyward ripped an RBI double and slid hard into Frazier’s tag at third. Six innings and one ejection later, Price was still frustrated by the slide.

“Something happened at third base with Heyward. I thought that was a bad slide there,” Price told reporters. “I thought that was a dirty slide and I didn’t like that at all. He’s not a dirty player, but I just thought it was a bad slide and a dirty slide. It could have really affected Frazier and I’m not happy about that and nor are any of our players. Hopefully we’ll be able to us it as fuel in this series to find ways to win games like (this).”
Before he got to his feet at third base, Heyward reached out to Frazier. He asked the All-Star repeatedly if he was all right and assured him that he meant no harm.

“I was trying to get to the base quick, that’s all,” Heyward said. “I wasn’t sure how close and if there was going to be a play at the plate or not. I just slid hard. I looked to Frazier and asked him, ‘You good? You good?’ I wasn’t trying to do anything dirty or take anyone out. It wasn’t a situation that called for that. That’s all.”
