I said it in his last start - I saw a lot I liked from Cooney. The changeup is legit, the fastball has decent sink. If he can get his breaking ball over at all, he's not going to be a chump and if he can get it over with sharp break every other time instead of every 4th time, he'll actually be an asset.

And hey! Motivation Mike has his guys playing with their hair on fire again! Nice job running the ****ing bases, Peralta.

They sure play hard for him, don't they? Oh well, I guess when they just watched him absolutely punt game 1 maybe they decided that they got all of Tuesday off instead of just Tuesday afternoon.

And with the wild pitch, Peralta's laziness just cost us a run. He goes from 2nd to 3rd with ease on Heyward's grounder to 2b and then scores when that gets away.

It's. The. Pitching. That's it and that's all.

This position players on this team play lazy, unfocused, undisciplined ball more often than they don't. The only 2 on the team I think we get consistent effort out of are Wong and Heyward. I'd count Carpenter as well but that poor guy probably has to have someone brush his teeth for him at this point - he looks like a damn concentration camp victim.

Sadly, we don't have anyone in Memphis that can back up 2b and 3b while playing SS in a pinch and even providing a bit of LH sock.
