If no Choate there, why is he with the club?
Result doesn't necessarily justify decision. |

He's probably a better SS than Castro, but I'm not sure they trade Castro. Unless they swap positions, which they should, he'll be at 2B unless Javier Baez figures out how to take a walk. I think Baez gets traded for pitching though. He's a complete 180 type of hitter from what Theo is building the roster with.

Yep. Made a tone of sense at the time and was seemingly to roster shakeup to kinda move on if that is entirely possible. Hopefully Hayward can stop seeming like he is pressing and being awful at some point but its still early and he should otherwise fit in with this team.

They seemed to go with Martinez over Shelby, which, I get, but they really need Heyward to get his shit together. |

The team chemistry is off the charts. It's either a coincidence or Kelley/Craig/Miller/OT being out of the locker room has helped the current team. But, maybe its like Hamas said, people know their roles better and we got rid of the dead weight.

Brc, at this point, Bourjos could do what Heyward is doing right Now in the field and at the dish especially.

He said they'd used up their available RHers apart from Rosenthal so if he brought Choate into the game and Rizzo got on, then Choate would be forced to mow through RHers or Rosenthal would have to go more than an inning. Rizzo's actually had reverse splits the season+ anyway. Choate shouldn't be on the club, don't get me wrong. At the same time, there was a pretty good reason not to use him there. A) Rizzo probably would have smoked him and B) with the bulllpen being heavily taxed, using Rosie for more than an inning is probably not a great idea. But seriously, get rid of Choate.
