I don't remember saying Mayo was going to dominate in college. He's going to be very good.

You pull up Lopez' college stats and we'll have the benchmark. That shouldn't be difficult for Mayo to surpass. Don't forget that Lopez played six years in the NBA after not living up to the hype at St Johns. So, while his college career was not what Sports Illustrated had predicted, Lopez did okay for himself.

Anyway, I think Lopez could be 15 ppg scorer, dish out 5 apg, and grab 3 rpg. I think he'll be PAC 10 Newcomer of the year. I'll predict that USC will have better conference record next season. (11-7 in the 06-07 season.) I'll say 14-4. (Just a guess).

I think he'll be pain in the ass for Tim Floyd. And I'll bet Tim Floyd never sees another player of Mayo's caliber in coaching career.

The problem isn't pampered athletes on a pedestle, it's people like us who put them there. Maybe it's time we start cheering on construction workers . i could just see some guy throwing his hammer in the crowd after he gets done with some excellent roofing.

You misunderstand. But thats nothing new. When I call somebody a ""Tom" its a reference to their mindset.
We have several posters here who are also phoggies. These particular folks bring the mentality from that board to this board. Its funny to watch them parrot the phog talking points on this board. They think those points will go over here and be uncontested. (like they are on phog) You used to do this quite often. Then you rehabbed.

For instance, last week there was much hand wringing over having to play UCLA at San Jose. Much gnashing of teeth over "the 2 seed playing in its home state. When it was pointed out that KU had played NCAA tourney (and regional finals as well) in Kansas City and St. Louis, that fact was poo-pooed. When I told this to ArrowheadHawk, he said, "I wouldn't know. I was in Kindergarten". This is also known as having a low BBIQ.

So, when a KU fan gets the "Tom", it's because they have the Phog mentality. And the first name of the admin of that site is? Tom, of course. But you knew that already.
