Life Drinking Beer and Smoking Ribs... - Page 10

I'm in my backyard on a beautiful day, drinking beer and smoking a few racks of ribs. I think I have just about perfected this art. I use a good dry rub that has ground cayanne, sea salt, minced dry garlic, red pepper and a little onion salt. My baste has some Johnny Red, olive oil, cajun seasoning, balsanic vinagar and fresh garlic. My beer has alcohol, hopps and has been kissed by angels.
My boy is hanging out with me. He turns 1 on Tuesday. My wife is mowing the yard in some skin tight jeans.
Life is good today, that is all.

Yeah, you've got to keep the thing full, or else it's going to cost you twice as much as the upstairs fridge does to run it. Ours is a beer fridge/handy storage area for various foods. I wonder how efficient my cousin's kegerator is? Not very, I bet.

I don't understand. It takes more energy to run it when it's full versus empty.

I live in Bellevue, pm me the next time you're here. Just Good meat is on 84th and L. It's the best old school butcher shop we have left.

My wife's stepsister used to live in Bellevue, right off Corhhusker. Don't remember the name, but they lived by the big Wal-Mart, and right down the street from a high school.....

Stoysich is really good too, they're a little closer to where I live now, but they're not cheap.

It's kind of a tricky question, actually. If you are constantly adding room temperature beer to the fridge, of course it works harder to remove the heat from the beer. But, once the heat had been removed (and the door isn't opened all the time), the volume of air inside the fridge becomes the critical issue. The less "empty" volume, the better, IIRC.
