Life Drinking Beer and Smoking Ribs... - Page 5

I'm in my backyard on a beautiful day, drinking beer and smoking a few racks of ribs. I think I have just about perfected this art. I use a good dry rub that has ground cayanne, sea salt, minced dry garlic, red pepper and a little onion salt. My baste has some Johnny Red, olive oil, cajun seasoning, balsanic vinagar and fresh garlic. My beer has alcohol, hopps and has been kissed by angels.
My boy is hanging out with me. He turns 1 on Tuesday. My wife is mowing the yard in some skin tight jeans.
Life is good today, that is all.

I go there often to get "reviews" and it's a great source of info. However on their homepage when they say there is a difference between being a beer snob, a phrase they proclaim with a negative tone, and a beer geek ... I can't tell the difference. The reviews read like wine reviews.

Well, wine is an incredibly complex beverage. Beer is, too. You'd think that my reviews are totally snobby, too, I suspect.

I agree with this if it's someone who appreciates good beer. But like all things, opinions are subjective. Just like movie critics ... opinions vary.

I always hated that term. (I don't hate that you enjoy Busch, btw) A lot of people will avoid, say, stouts because of the perceived "heaviness." But a Guiness is, for all intents and purposes, as light as a Budweiser... which is to say that it isn't "heavy" at all.

Sorry, just nitpicking a large, regional trend.
