It is possible the Chargers saved the best for last.

Come the first Sunday in February, we might not know whether to raise a toast or cry in our beer. Maybe we’ll do both.

It’s not preposterous to believe we could get the opportunity to find out.

We’re three days into training camp, so this isn’t a prediction.

What it is, is the best perspective that can be gleaned at this point. It’s a spectrum of possibility. It is legitimate hope, and it is prudent realism.

The Chargers, in what may well be their final season in San Diego, can be a good team. A playoff team. A Super Bowl team.

We’re not saying they are a good team because, well, we know better. Fool us once, shame on you. Fool us a few dozen times, shame on us.

We’ve seen promise unravel, at various times, in a steaming pile of historically bad special teams, seemingly infectious injuries, ridiculous penalties, overconfidence and Marlon McCree.

But, really, this Chargers team has the potential to be what no Chargers team has ever been before

Very. I think they completely depend on how Carr develops, and how their oline is.

They have a LOT of talent.

Added Amari Cooper, Crabtree, to go with Rod Streeter, Latavius Murray.

If they get anything from their secondary, which is their weak spot, and can protect Carr, they can give the Bolts a run for third.

And no matter what they say, no, the Chargers, and Raiders are not on the Chiefs level.

The Chargers are going to implode. You don't leave your franchise qb on his last year. Its going to be rough in San Diego.

They're in talks now so I'd expect Rivers to have signed his extension prior to the season opener.

Ranking the AFCW teams this year--

1. Broncos (HoF QB)
2. Chargers (Rock Solid, Franchise QB)
3. Chiefs (Mediocre QB)
4. Raiders (2nd Year QB)

You can see how the division lines up according to who the QB is. As for the raiders, I'm not sold on Carr just yet. He got a bunch of his stats when the raiders were out of the game and way behind (garbage time stats).

Yeah. Forget the loss to Alex smith. The chargers in a game they had to have lost to chase ****ing daniel. How in the **** , other than the fact that you are beyond dumb do you figure with all the upgrades the Chiefs made in the offseason, not to mention getting Derrick, devito, and Berry back do you still put the Chargers ahead of the Chiefs.
