2010 Kansas City Royals Repository thread

All Royals All The Time!

After consultation with others who peruse the game threads we decided to create this as a repository for all things Royals. Minor league news, AL (ahem) Central (thanks Vonne) news and anything Royals can be found here.

alnorth, me and atleast 5 others will continue the game threads as usual. But if you locate something of interest.. ANYTHING.. deals on apparel, best ways in/out of the stadium, giveaways, great stories from this season or from seasons gone by, rumors, trades, anything.... feel free to post it here.

If a big story breaks, you can still start a thread about it. There is merely an all inclusive thread that will make a easy for us all to keep up with all things Royals.

VARSITY
Did you guys see the Marlins get jobbed by the umps?
Marlins vs. Phillies, link to the video of the play in question:
http://tinyurl.com/2csaxqs

Is it just me, or have the umps really sucked it more than usual this year? Jim Joyce ruined a no-hitter, Royals lost a game on a bad putout call at second vs. Twins (see pic), and this was a FAIR ball, no doubt about it. Pitiful.

Cool article today on Baseball Prospectus, even just the free portion. This is the reason why the NWA and Omaha games are a little more exciting than the big leagues right now.

Future Shock

Quote:
An e-mail from a scout last night led to a deeper thought, however, as he sketched a quick outline of a Royals roster of the future, leading me to put some real detailed thought into the process. What I came up with surprised even me. "This team could be really good," said the scout. "I realize that's weird, and like saying the Los Angeles Clippers are going to be good, where it just doesn't sound right, but that's a lot of talent."

With all these guys in the minors doing so well and moving up the organizational rankings and all that...who are the most disappointing prospects?

The Cuban guy? Whatever his name is.

Arguelles? Has he even pitched? Either way, that would qualify as disappointing.

Yea him, I don't think he's even reported to a team or anything at this point.

he was injured. He gets a pass this season, but obviously lost a year of development.

Doesn't seem a little fishy in baseball when a guys sore shoulder goes to him not being able to do anything...seems like there's something wrong with him and they can't figure out what it is...that never ends well, usually in some kind of major surgery.

Read an article about that Cuban pitcher being ridiculously overrated. Thesis was, essentially, that Moore was fleeced.

well, in the end there's no huge contract, just a small amount of David's money. He was always a surprise anyway, if he flops it isn't a blown draft pick

The moral of this story is if you're going to spend money on Cuban players, just spend the money for Aroldis Chapman so you don't get ripped off.

While I get your question, it is pretty funny that you immediately swoop in with your dark cloud on the one thing that is positive for the Royals right now. I say funny, but really I mean predictable.

On an unrelated note...and I'm not sure if this is a repost or not, but apparently a claim was placed on Adam Dunn...rumors are that it was the Dodgers. BTW, it might have been a good idea for them to work something out before the game. Dunn has 2 three-run jacks and has accounted for all 6 runs against...the Dodgers.

I'm going to raise the offer, Deez. 3 years, $54 million.
