All Royals All The Time!

After consultation with others who peruse the game threads we decided to create this as a repository for all things Royals. Minor league news, AL (ahem) Central (thanks Vonne) news and anything Royals can be found here.

alnorth, me and atleast 5 others will continue the game threads as usual. But if you locate something of interest.. ANYTHING.. deals on apparel, best ways in/out of the stadium, giveaways, great stories from this season or from seasons gone by, rumors, trades, anything.... feel free to post it here.

If a big story breaks, you can still start a thread about it. There is merely an all inclusive thread that will make a easy for us all to keep up with all things Royals.

I just take him asking for a pitcher and of is that he is basically saying I want your best 2 prospects since that is the case for most teams. And sure, there aren't too many 5 tool prospects but the upside on outfielders is always greater because they almost always have a higher power ceiling.

This can be the type of decision that goes a long way toward getting a GM fired, so this reality should offer some sort of comfort for Royals fans; DM knows how big this is.

The comment section on MLBTradeRumors is a cess pool, so it's best not to read anything there. But I admit that I wouldn't give up both Snider and Drabek in a deal for him (as has been talked about).

Keep in mind that Jays fans already had the pleasure of watching the best pitcher in baseball for a decade and it ultimately led the team nowhere. There's not much reason to think that a lesser ace like Greinke will get the team over the hump, so why trade so much of the team's future away?

This is a ridiculous approach, IMO. What if we're offered two potential stud middle infielders and a legit C prospect? Is Dayton going to say, "Yeah, I really want that OF?"

Once you've had TJ surgery as a pitcher, it doesn't make you any more likely than another guy to have a pitching injury. So I'm not really understanding your concerns...most guys go through TJ these days, it's not a big deal.

I completely disagree with this. No way in hell you should brush such a major injury under the rug. The fact that it's now far more common is a testament more to the development of young pitchers than it is a statement to the lack of concern one should have about future health.

Do you have any evidence that having TJ surgery makes you more likely to get hurt than any other "healthy" pitcher?

Pitchers are injuries waiting to happen. IMO, the fact that he got his TJ surgery out of the way before he started his big league career is a good thing.

I agree with the bold because many are max-effort guys, which Greinke, notably, is not.

Evidence? Sure, give me a list of high-quality ML starters, not currently playing in STL, who have had TJ and gone on to successful careers as starters.
