All Royals All The Time!

After consultation with others who peruse the game threads we decided to create this as a repository for all things Royals. Minor league news, AL (ahem) Central (thanks Vonne) news and anything Royals can be found here.

alnorth, me and atleast 5 others will continue the game threads as usual. But if you locate something of interest.. ANYTHING.. deals on apparel, best ways in/out of the stadium, giveaways, great stories from this season or from seasons gone by, rumors, trades, anything.... feel free to post it here.

If a big story breaks, you can still start a thread about it. There is merely an all inclusive thread that will make a easy for us all to keep up with all things Royals.

We've got a Chargers/Pads fan that is a beloved member on this board. We're not opposed to enemy fans being members here. Your post was a trolling sort of post though. This thread is a repository for Royals news/discussion. Something as insubstantial as Go Pads! in this sort of thread seems like blatant trolling.

I usually don't have much to say as evidenced by my low post count compared to the # of years I've been a member. I do like to read and laugh at all the Internet pissing matches that occur; however I have to add my 2 cents and with the state of the economy it will probably be the only I can spare.
I find your claims that Greinke's 2009 was the outlier and his 2010 was more the norm, as you remarked on more than one occasion. However you continue to insist that Snider's 2010 was just a little detour to greatness. You're just as much a blind homer as Royals fans. I don't have the numbers in front of me but I don't recall Greinke having too much difficulty with the almighty AL East, especially in 09.

Greinke 2007 (122 IP): 2.5 WAR
Greinke 2008 (202.1 IP): 4.9 WAR
Greinke 2009 (229.1): 9.4 WAR
Greinke 2010 (220 IP): 5.2 WAR

There is no reason to believe that the 2009 season is much more than an outlier, and therefore no reason to value him much more than a 5 WAR pitcher, especially when he's moving to a difficult division.

And there are countless examples of pitching numbers going up as pitchers have moved into the AL East (or going down, in a move the other way, as Halladay showed in his year in the NL). It's inarguable that facing three of the top offenses in baseball in half of your starts (NYY, BOS, TAM) will have a detrimental effect on a pitcher's numbers.

Oh, and what was wrong with Snider's 2010? He put up a .255/.304/.463 line in 82 games while being injured for half the year with a 1.5 WAR. It wasn't a detour at all. It was a pretty good season for a 22 year old outfielder.

I think it's pretty safe to say that Snider is not going to be a player of Braun's caliber. Not interested in this being a "key" piece to a Greinke trade.

At Snider's age, Braun was still playing college baseball. But yeah, I guess we can write Snider off based on his .770 OPS season in the majors.
