This issue has been coming up in several recent conversations....that new posters and those who don't post often, don't feel welcome, or comfortable to make comment. The Offseason, when its slow, is as good a time as any, to wade into the pool.

Let me say, that prior to joining the planet(a new start) I was very uncomfortable posting at the star.....because "these internet people seem to know each other". I sort of felt like I was interupting someones conversation at a cafe or something. It took "the mike keck incident" to make me just do the cannonball into the pool. I wasn't comfortable until I had an oportunity for a fresh start, when chiefsplanet came online....and it took awhile after that.

Every poster has a story and a personality. Those who have been here a long time, probably know enough about each other's lives to scare the shit out of all of us....just from accumulation of tidbits through the years.

This is your Oportunity to step forward. Introduce yourself. This is a safe place. Let us get to know you, and if anyone is a prick for no reason on this thread, I'll stick my thumb in their Router.

Every time I hear we need fresh meat I think that we should change the name to "The Casting Couch Planet" or "Barely Legal Planet".

I've been more of a lurker than a noob I guess. I think I might have to find Kotter and everyone else that comes up for Jazzfest so I can put some faces with names. The real point the noobs need to hear, which has been touched on, is that 95% of the beatings dished out on the Planet are sibling-type. Yeah, we're smaking someone around, but it's out of love. The moment that person is in actualy pain or distress we back off and/or lend support. You will be harded pressed to find a finer online community.

We need the noobs and lurkers to keep the gene pool fresh. You lurkers especially. You should add to the commentary you enjoy so much so that it doesn't become stale.

I love this place. I do get intimidated because I don't know stats or a lot about what each position on D and O are necessarily supposed to do. I grew up in a small town and we couldn't afford a football team, so I never played the game. I don't record the games and play them over and over so I can see who missed or made a good play. I do have the NFL ticket and I NEVER miss a Chiefs game. I am passionate about the Chiefs!! BigDaddy kind of scares me but not as much as Pittbulls. Just kidding about BD but not about Pittbulls. I expect I'm quite a bit older than most on this BB. I've said before there are some funny Mother fuckers on here. I have learned more about football from here than anywhere else. I'm also not real computer literate which also intimidates me. I not a real social butterfly, but I would really like to party with you people. Oh and I am also passionate about hunting. I think we have had a tremendous off season and I can't wait to see what we can do with an outstanding O and a good D. That's all. Thanks for reading.

I lurk mostly because of time constraints. Yes I have a life, unlike most of you ga-jillian post count regulars

When I have been in the mood to post (rarely), I find it can take a lot of time. Hats off to you guys to provide me entertainment. Additionally, I find that I don't materially have anything of interest to add. So I don't.

The Planet is a valuable resource that I use on occassion for research...see +HP for a Trailblazer or Where to Paddle in MO. There is quite a bit of insight available with numerous varing opinions. There is also a GREAT variation in intellect as well. Which adds to the humor value.

I think that most of the above is why Lurkers out number regulars.

That's my 2 cents worth.
