Could the chiefs trade for Joe haden?

Could the chiefs trade for Joe haden? If so for the salary cap gurus what would need to be done to clear space to take on his contract. There are rumors browns are looking for a 3rd or 4th.

Browns would take a $10m cap hit to trade him. Not happening.

No.

The Browns would have $10 million in Dead Money but they'd have savings of $3.4 million this year.

Currently, the Browns have $50 million in cap space for 2017 so they could afford the Dead Money.

If the Browns cut him in 2017, they'd have $6.8 million in Dead Money, so I could see them trading for a 3rd or 4th or 5th in lieu of saving $3 million next year.

That said, he's a shell of his former self. Maybe a change of scenery would help but that's a pretty big risk considering he hasn't been a top CB in years.

Well, on the Browns' front, they'll eat $8,600,000 yet in 2016:
$1,800,000 in remaining 2016 prorated signing bonus
$3,200,000 in 2017 prorated signing bonus
$3,200,000 in 2018 prorated signing bonus
$400,000 in 2019 prorated signing bonus

The Browns can trade the remaining, guaranteed, 2016 salary of $5,681,500, which would assuredly be a stipulation of the deal given they wouldn't want to pay for Haden to play for his new team.

The team trading for Haden will get that guaranteed 2016 salary plus salaries of $11.1 million in 2017 and 2018 and $10.4 million in 2019.

I can't see the compensation being too hefty with all that to take on and Haden's performance being so-so this season as well as him being nicked up.

You're trading for a premier cover corner salary any way you slice it. The nice thing for the team trading for him is they'll be paying him top 8 money and will have him locked up until he's 30, but none of it is guaranteed so the risk is minimal.

This is a trade that actually makes a ton of sense.

Joe Haden can't play defense by himself. Their defense is atrocious. As a #2 behind Peters, he'd be terrific. Plus you know he can play in Sutton's press scheme since he played very well for Pettine.

He hasn't been viewed as a top 5 CB in years now. Does he still have the juice to make a mid-round trade worth it?

For whatever reason I remember him being drafted on TV, back in what seems like 2003. Lol
I know he's not that old but in my mine it seems like he's been around forever.

Could the Chiefs trade for Joe Haden? Probably, but do we want them too? Hell no. I think this is far from happening.

Talk about trades I don't see why Dallass doesn't trade Broken Dick Romo to the Texans they need a quarterback to get something going that division is up for 8-8 divisional winner. I hate the Cowpussies so I hope they put Romo back in and he shits himself on the Dallass Star when he get's sacked.
