Raiders Add Wylie to Coaching Staff

sorry if repost

http://www.raiders.com/news/article-...7-f1992f97ccb7

Bob Wylie, entering his fourth decade of coaching football that includes 18 years at the professional level, joins the Oakland Raiders as offensive line coach.
“Bob is a spectacular teacher, motivator and drill sergeant,” said Oakland Raiders Head Coach Hue Jackson. “His vast knowledge and experience, including last year with a team in our division will really help us as we move forward in assembling a really good offensive line.”

Wylie spent last season sharing offensive line coaching duties for the Denver Broncos. As an NFL assistant with the Arizona Cardinals, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Chicago Bears, he tutored seven offensive linemen who earned Pro Bowl berths. Wylie has also coached tight ends for Cincinnati and the New York Jets.

Before returning to the NFL with Denver, Wylie spent three seasons as offensive line coach in the Canadian Football League with Saskatchewan in 2009 and Winnipeg from 2007-08. During his three seasons as an offensive line coach in the CFL, Wylie was part of two teams that played in the Grey Cup with Saskatchewan (2009) and Winnipeg (2007). He coached players to All-Star appearances at every offensive line position (tackle, guard and center) in the CFL.

Wylie spent 13 seasons coaching at the collegiate level, with the latest stint as offensive line coach at Syracuse (2005-06). He served in the same capacity at the University of Cincinnati (1996), Colorado State (1988-89), Holy Cross (1983-84) and Brown (1980-82) and was offensive coordinator at Ohio University (1985-87). The West Warwick, R.I. native played linebacker at the University of Colorado for three years before transferring to Roger Williams College.

This is not a Raiders board. No one here cares about your OL coach.

I'm trying to work out the math here, but so far it isn't adding up. Raiders were the #2 rushing team, Broncos were #26. It almost kinda seems like a step backwards. Am I doing something wrong?

Your math is fine Duck.
I like the fact Al didn't wait till the last min for a coach, but man I can't see his vision on this one.
As far as a step back, ahhh yep! I'll agree with ya one this one.
Any word on QB yet, or we just gonna address that one about 2 more years from now after our OL gets someone killed??

Not exactly teams I'd link with having great offensive line play...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Exactly what I was thinking, and what with Al letting Cabel go, and god only knows who else he'll let walk this offseason (read that Rats bailing a sinking ship).
Now granted, the man became somewhat a legend in (in very short time) developing players up here in the CFL, but it's like comparing apples and oranges.
At least Al's doing something......and the drama continues

I figured you posted it because you liked it, glad you seem logical about it. I was pretty sure that Denver had one of the worst rushing attacks in the league last year. It has been a while since any of those teams have had a running game.

It is probably sad that when I saw the thread title that I was hoping that Wylie was his first name and Coyote was his last name, but seeing his track record it might be fitting.

Fixed for accuracy.

I'm a fan of the Raiders as well, but Campbell is the not our biggest issue in the short term.
