Colorado get away
Long story short......
Wife & I's anniversary is coming up next month. Looking to take her away for a couple days to Colorado. I've been looking at Vail, or Estes Park, etc. Just not sure what's a good semi romantic place to go. Looking for some quiet together time, but a place with some decent food & nightlife. Hoping some of you can give me some suggestions. |

Estes Park is nice. I like Colorado Springs, but it is super close to where I am. DaFace knows lots of good places in Denver.
I've heard Vail is tremendously expensive. |

If you like a little gambling with your getaway, Cripple Creek is quiet and won't kill the budget. Decent restaurants there as well.

Vail is expensive, but if your wife is into shopping, that's where you want to take her.
Estes Park is great. If you are a fan of The Shining, you can stay at the Stanley hotel; it was Stephen King's inspiration for The Overlook; supposedly haunted (if you believe in that sort of thing).

Vail is probably the place to go. I like Frisco myself, but it's a smaller town and is not going to have nightlife. Vail will have more restaurants and more entertainment.
If you want to go with amazing scenery, go to Telluride, but I'm not sure of the nightlife there, either. That's not something I ever think about.

Take a look at Breckenridge. I lived in Colorado for more than half my life, and it's my favorite mountain town.
