Ravens game plan

Stop LJ & Gonzo on defense. Offense, McNair will spike the ball on 1 & 2 down. Special teams, kick the ball to Hall

The Ravens will probably try to run on 1st and 2nd down, and get in third and long all the time. They'll complete quite a few third and longs, but not enough to score at will.

Cleveland showed the rest of the league how to beat the Chiefs. Forget about the running game and, and just throw the ball almost every down. Most coaches are too hard-headed to try to do that. They think they have to establish the run, or some such nonsense. The Chiefs simply cannot stop the passing game.

Bullshit. We can stop the pass, WHEN we have a pass rush. On Sunday, Gun and the pass rush pussed out.

It's that simple.

Hell, you give ANY NFL QB the time the Browns QBs had on Sunday, they will have some success.

That's a little circular reasoning there. Obviously, if we had a good pass rush we could stop the pass. Problem is, we don't. If we can't get a pass rush going against the weakest o-line in the NFL....

I think Whitlock is right; it's not that we can't bring a pass rush....I just think they chose to be very "vanilla" with their approach on Sunday--not wanting to show too much to the Ravens and/or Chargers.

I think they were arrogant enough to think they didn' "need" to bring a pass rush....

I mean, sure the front four "tried" to get to the Cleveland QBs--as Herm said in the post-game....

But when they can't get to the QB, they need to mix it up with more stunts and blitzes. They sat on those Sunday. SAT on them.

FTR, I'm not saying we are one of the better pass rushing teams in the league, but if we need to.....we CAN get at the QB. On Sunday we chose not to get after the QB. That's just inexcusable in my mind.

If you doubt me, watch them the rest of the season. Seriously.

Being "vanilla" at this point in the season? If that's correct, Gun is dumber than I thought.

I hope this is not true. Every coach in the league knows that you don't look past any one team. I have noticed that we have our best defensive games when we line everone up on the line of scrimage, and then blitz/drop back various people. I noticed we did that maybe once or twice in cleveland. Against a rookie, we should have been doing that all damn day.

the passing game is definitely our biggest weakness imo

well maybe just stupidity is the real weakness ... but it manifests itself more in the passing game than anywhere else.

when facing the chiefs you should really use the pass to set up the run.

Phase one - throw the short stuff ..... because we don't believe in actually covering the RB/TE. We just stand next to them until they catch it .... then make the tackle.

that will tired out our defense line and make gunther give up on the blitz because it doesn't have time to get there.

Phase two - add some draws, bootlegs, swing pass to the mix. Adds to the confusion and frustration on our defensive line. They have to hesitate on the pass rush to see about the draws etc.

Phase three - open up the offense completely.... by then we are so confused and tentative that you can do just about anything you want.

Phase four - sit back and laugh as gunther turns all redfaced in the booth, while spitting tobacco relentlessly into his dixie cup.

Despite my extremely limited PC skills, i was able to hack the ravens system and what i found was SHOCKINGLY simple...

Ray-Rays posse are going to ambush & shank Trent, LJ, TG & Jared on Saturday night.

It will put Michael Corleones fell swoop tactics to consolidate power to SHAME.

I hate classless fans. But if a fan wants to smack Ray-Ray in the head with a battery. When he pulls up a handful of Arrowhead turf & does his spasmic dance. I could happily look the other way
